WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY ABOUT US…

We have recently moved from Warningcamp, where Christine designed a small woodland area for our garden.

We have now moved to a smaller house where Christine designed a completely new cottage style garden with brick paths, paving, small trees as well as plenty of shrubs and other plants. This required a lot of clearance and construction work carried out by Matt Haynes of ‘The Outside Works’.

We have been very pleased with both schemes. The designs were just what we wanted and the work was carried out in a professional and friendly manner, on time and to an agreed budget.

We are therefore happy to recommend highly both Christine and Matt.

We came across Christine quite by chance, having had issues with the two previous potential designers for our garden remodelling project. It was very lucky that we did! Christine came up with a design that was at once creative and practical. She arranged quotations from contractors, helped with the selection of our final choice and coordinated/ supervised their part of the project, as well as arranging all plant purchases and deliveries. All in all a very satisfactory experience, would recommend!

Christine has designed a planting scheme for our front garden to provide year round interest and will require a low maintenance approach. She is endlessly patient and very knowledgable on plants. I am very happy with the result achieved.

Christine is very knowledgable about plants and those supplied were of high quality and chosen to be suitable for my garden conditions. She also provided a very useful maintenance plan for me.

Christine has redesigned my back garden and she coordinated the project seamlessly from design to build. She also sourced very good landscape contractors.

I first contacted Christine in December for advice on replanting my back garden. It was a small project and I would not have been surprised if she had tactfully suggested passing my details on to someone else. However, Christine graciously agreed and suggested a date when she could visit me to see the garden and discuss further.
Although a small project, it was a special one for me as it would be in memory of my dear mother who passed away in 2019. Some of her favourite plants were roses, peonies and lavender and I wanted to incorporate these into the design.

Christine was very thorough and considered all aspects of this project including soil testing, exact sun position and how this border would tie in with the existing border on the other side. She was full of ideas but at the same time always considered my wishes.

A plan was drawn up in December and plants were ordered by Christine for delivery in April. And then Covid 19 struck in March! Amazingly, the project went ahead as planned. Christine agreed with the nursery to collect plants at a safe distance and in line with Government safe guidelines. Christine delivered the plants to me as planned in April and, again, able to keep inline with all government Covid19 safety guidelines. Access was via my back garden and we were able to keep our distance.

I am very much a novice gardener and Christine has held my hand all the way, advising me on how best to prepare the soil and the quantity of well rotted manure needed and where to source it from, together with recommendations on specialist nurseries. Continued advice has been given on all the plants and how best to care for them.
Christine has always been available for advice and reassurance and now, 4 weeks after planting, my garden is beginning to come alive with colour! I enjoy being in my garden now, whereas before it was somewhat depressing to be outside.

Despite the Coronavirus pandemic, the project went incredibly smoothly and this was all due to Christine’s methodical and organised approach together with her careful listening to my concerns and wishes. Christine has brought me a lot of happiness with my new garden and it will be a happiness that lasts as my garden grows and develops.

Christine Fowler designed our garden, selected suitable plants/shrubs,ordered them from a reputable nursery, organized the gardeners/landscape people and finally supervised the planting. All this took six months mainly due to the very cold weather we had in December through to April ,although all the building had been completed on schedule in December. We decided to wait until the weather got warmer to complete the planting.

We are extremely pleased with the outcome and the garden looks lovely and is a peaceful place to sit and drink a glass of wine on a hot summer’s day! Christine deserves great credit for the design of our garden because it is split into five awkward sections – none of them very large – but each with its own idiosyncracies with respect to light/shade/whether it is dry or wet. Christine has managed to unify these disparate sections in such a clever way with plants, shrubs and landscaping that the garden seems to flow from one part to the other quite effortlessly.

We cannot recommend her highly enough because most importantly, she stayed well within budget, has listened to us and sometimes allowed us to overrule her and the work has been completed to our entire satisfaction. Christine is a wonderful, conscientious and imaginative designer and she will execute whichever job she undertakes to perfection. If all this sounds too good to be true, we have to say THAT IT IS!!!

We asked Christine to design a garden which would overcome a number of obstacles and challenges of a small garden with its own big tree. We now have a garden that will mature into a woodland landscape with shrubs and ferns which will provide a tapestry of rich colours: very happy with the design.

We have a typically long and narrow London garden and Christine has provided consultancy on replanting part of the garden and making the best of what we already have. I am so delighted with the result that I have asked Christine back now that I am having a basement added to my house. This will entail a full garden redesign and build together with a completely new planting scheme.
Mrs S. Ropner

I am extremely pleased with the service provided by Christine. This included redesigning my planting scheme for a sunny and dry large border in my back garden, getting competitive quotes for the landscaping and providing mature quality plants from the nursery and supervising the landscaper. She has also recommended a gardener to me to keep the garden well maintained.
Mrs E. Eyre

We hardly ever used the end of the garden, now we are down there the whole time.
